Mission: Fight period poverty and period stigma.

The Period Poverty Project is a community service organization that serves those who do not have proper access to menstrual hygiene products. We also work to debunk the social stigma around menstruation by making it an open topic of discussion on our campus and in our community at large.

The Period Poverty Project is a certified 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in San Diego, CA that serves those who do not have proper access to menstrual hygiene products. We also work to debunk the social stigma around menstruation by making it an open topic of discussion in our community.

Donation

The Period Poverty Project directly serves the city of San Diego through holding product drives and fundraising to donate packs of menstrual products to those in need such as homeless, low-income, and immigrant populations.

The term "period poverty" refers to the global issue of inadequate access to menstrual hygiene products and lack of education regarding menstrual health.

What is period stigma?

"Period stigma" refers to the societal taboo surrounding menstruation. The conception that periods are shameful and should be kept a secret is the reason why issues like period poverty and menstrual health are often ignored on a global scale.
